🌟 Congratulations, Wasim! 🌟

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our union member, Wasim. His journey from being a refugee to becoming an academic and community leader is truly inspiring.

After spending 11 years as a refugee in Egypt, Wasim arrived in Canada last December through the government-assisted refugee program. Despite many challenges, he has achieved incredible milestones:

📚 Academic Excellence: Graduated with honors in accounting and received prestigious scholarships, including from UNHCR (DAFI) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), to pursue advanced degrees.

💡 Leadership & Innovation: Authored a master’s thesis on Big Data and Forensic Accounting, showcasing his dedication to addressing challenges in accounting and finance.

🎓 Continuing Education: Currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Migration and Refugee Studies at the American University in Cairo, set to graduate in Fall 2024.
